Depend on the Cremation Specialists

PictureWhether for religious, environmental or personal reasons, an increasing number of families are choosing cremation over the more traditional burial. Cremation also serves as an affordable alternative to the typical funeral service, which often includes costly caskets and pricey cemetery plots.

Regardless of your particular reason, the expert staff at South Brevard Funeral Home, Palm Bay Funeral Home and East Coast Cremation will explain the various cremation options available and address your specific concerns and preferences.

Secure, dignified cremations

Unlike most funeral homes, we provide timely cremations at our onsite facility. Our state-certified crematory operators work under the supervision of licensed funeral directors, and we allow families to attend the cremation. That's because we are fully dedicated to offering families secure and respectful cremation services.

We offer a wide range of cremation services in order to meet both the emotional and financial needs of each family. Some of these arrangements include:

  • Funeral service followed by cremation and earth burial
  • Funeral service followed by cremation and inurnment in mausoleum, columbarium or crypt
  • Memorial service with viewing followed by cremation
  • Cremation followed by memorial service with cremated remains
  • Memorial service and interment in mausoleum, columbarium or crypt
  • Simple cremation only
  • Simple cremation followed by memorial service and/or scattering ceremony

As part of our mission to offer families reasonably priced services, we'll help you plan cremation arrangements that are on target with your budget. Our cremation specialists will work with you to create a service that's not only distinctive and dignified, but also affordable.

At South Brevard Funeral Home, Palm Bay Funeral Home and East Coast Cremation, we offer much more than simple cremations-we provide a wide variety of distinctive cremation services and ceremonies. That's what makes us the cremation specialists.

Questions about cremation:

Many families have a lot of questions and concerns about cremation. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from our clients:

What exactly is cremation? Cremation is a clean and ecologically safe process in which a body is reduced to its basic elements.

Where is your crematory located and who performs the cremations? Space Coast Crematory is located within our South Brevard Funeral Home in Melbourne, where we have state certified crematory operators on staff.

How do we know we'll receive the correct remains after the cremation? We follow a three-part identification system to ensure that each family receives the correct remains. This system identifies the deceased before, during and after cremation. The use of this procedure along with our policy of performing only one cremation at a time guarantees that no mistakes are made. Additionally, our crematory is available for your inspection.

Is it necessary to purchase a casket or pay for the embalming process? No casket is needed and embalming is not necessary for cremation. A simple alternative container can be used in place of a casket. Before cremation, private family viewings are made available without the expense of a casket or embalming. However, we do recommend embalming for a public viewing or funeral service before cremation, and we offer an affordable rental casket for these types of arrangements.

If you have additional questions about our cremation process, please don't hesitate to give us a call or stop by our facility for a tour.
