William Helge Johnson Jr.

June 26, 1917 - January 28, 2010

West Melbourne, FL

William Helge Johnson, Jr., 92, died January 28, 2010 in Palm Bay, FL. He was born on June 26, 1917 in Tuxedo Park, NY and moved to Satellite Beach in 1960 from Seattle, WA, and to West Melbourne in 1997.

He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and worked for Boeing as an engineer, retiring from Kennedy Space Center. Both for work, and at home, he was always inventing things. William was a talented wood carver and had carved 100's of piece for his family and friends. He always saw the lighter side in life and was known as a great jokester. He and his wife were world travelers. He taught his family that it's never too late to achieve your dreams - at 89, he took flying lessons.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Grace P. Johnson, and three younger siblings. He is survived by his children Glen Johnson and Helga (Chris) Sundin; grandchildren Jessica Sundin, Jeff Sundin, and Todd Sundin; and great granddaughter Leila Yorek Sundin.

Arrangements entrusted to South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL (231) 724-2222.
