Dorothy Yard Logan

MELBOURNE Dorothy Yard Logan, 92, passed away on Saturday, Aug 14, 2010. Loving mother of Susan Snell (Ronald) and Patricia Sussman (Roy). Grandmother of Mary (Joseph Alfieri) and Donald Blankenship; Blake (Paul Greischar) and Geordan (Cheri) Logan; Wendy, Michael, Anne, and Thomas Sussman; and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Thomas (NYPD), son Thomas, and grandchildren John Blankenship and Annie Sussman. Dorothy began a second career at age 49 as an LPN, and retired from Orlando Naval Training Center Hospital, where she worked in the newborn nursery. While living in Brooklyn NY, she worked at various jobs including being one of the original NYC Meter Maids and as such, appeared on the television show “What’s My Line”. Her hobbies were painting and quilting. Thank you to her friends and neighbors at Trinity Towers South, Emeritus ALF and William Childs Hospice House.
Funeral Information
She will be cremated and laid to rest at Long Island National Cemetery.
