William "Red" Jeslinek

September 28, 1938 - January 12, 2010

Melbourne Beach

William "Red" Jeslinek, 71, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay.

Red was born September 28, 1938 in Englewood. NJ to the late Frank Thomas Jeslinek and Jessie Marie Thornton Jeslinek.

He was a counselor for the West Islip, NY, School District for 35 years.

Red graduated from Tenafly High School in New Jersey in 1956, earned his Bachelors Degree from Waynesboro College in Pennsylvania and his Masters degree from Queens College in New York City.

He was Co-founder, Past President, Treasurer and contributed to the newsletter of the Kenwwood Civic Association, a member of the committee that founded the Connetquot Library, and was First Vice President, Treasurer (1977-99) and contributed to the newsletter of the Long Island Live Steamers. He was also involved in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts as a Leader, Treasurer and Council Member.

Red enjoyed helping other people.

His family includes his wife, Kathleen Bachmann Jeslinek; A son, Micheal Thomas Jeslinek; a daughter and son in law, Elizabeth Ann and John Timothy Lyon; two grandchildren, John Timothy (J.T.) Lyon and Kayla Marie Lyon and a sister and brother in law, Barbara and Homer Roy Gardner.

Funeral Information

A Celebration of Red's Life will be on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the pool at South Shores in Melbourne Beach.
