Howard V. Lane

October 22, 1917 - July 19, 2010

Malabar, FL

Howard V. Lane (age 92) a World War II veteran, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 at William Childs Hospice House. He was a kind man, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.

Born October 22, 1917 in Chillicothe, Illinois, he served as a sheet metal mechanic with the Army Air Corps in England during WWII, where he met his wife Marjorie I. Ellson. Returning from overseas, the family lived in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Accomplishments include working on aircraft for the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff at Andrews AFB in Washington DC, just prior to his retirement in 1976.

Howard Lane had survived both his mother, Edna Longacre, and his wife Marjorie. His immediate surviving family includes 3 daughters: Pat Morris, Wendy Peek, and Debbie Winter. Members of the Morris family include daughter Pat and husband Dave; grandson Tracy Bauer; great grandchildren Chad and Chrissy; and great-great granddaughter Trinity. Members of the Peek family include daughter Wendy and husband Brian; grandsons Bob Diodato, Dave Diodato, Jimmy Peek and Jonathan Peek; great grandchildren Bradley, Michael, MaKenzee, Madison, Ella, Nicholas, Brandon, Andrew, Christopher, Jacob, McKenna, Autumn, Bradley, Jasmyn, Gabriella, and Skylar; and great-great granddaughter Rylee. Members of the Winter family include daughter Debbie and husband Greg; and granddaughter Krystal Winter.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Palm Bay Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL (312) 724-2224.

Funeral Information

Visitation hours are Thursday, July 22 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm. A private family service with United States Air Force Honors will be held later in the afternoon at the cemetery grave site.
