Silas M. Crawford Jr.

March 10, 1921 - December 31, 2011

Palm Bay, Florida

Silas Marion Crawford, age 90, died on Saturday December 31st.

Born March 10, 1921 in Vernon, Alabama, he lived in Columbus Mississippi, Miami Florida, and Palm Bay Florida and worked as an Independent Distributor for the Miami News for over 20 years and Sears Corporation.

Si was a United States Marine and was a very proud WW II vet.

Si loved to be outside and enjoyed the natural surroundings. Anyone that knew Si knows how much he loved plants, flowers, birds, dogs, and sitting by his fountain in the garden. He enjoyed watching the neighborhood kids and taught them how to swim.

Si was very active with the Greater Palm Bay Sr. Center and volunteered his time. Si enjoyed playing Billiards and even won many 1st place awards in billiard tournament. Si was also part of the American Legion for over 10 years.

He was a very loving person and loved being around family and friends.

Survivors include Barbara Crawford his wife of over 60 years, and his children Gladys Nagler, Don Crawford, and Landy Little.

Funeral Information

Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday January 7th at Glenbrooke Retirement center (Clubhouse), 815 Briar Creek Boulevard NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905.
