Wilbur H. Legro, 90, of Palm Bay, FL, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay. He was born in Salem, MA on May 19, 1919 to Alfred P. and Hazel (Herring) Legro. Wilbur served 23 years in the U.S. Army followed by 21 years in Federal Civil Service. In World War II he served in the Pacific Theatre, and throughout the years he served in Germany, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and other countries. He retired from the Army as a (C.W.O.3) Ordinance Officer. Upon entering Federal Civil Service, he served as Ordinance advisor to many Posts throughout the world. He was also a Grand Mason, Shriner, a member of the SAR and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Later in his life he was an avid HAM Radio Operator and enjoyed his service as a Notary and Justice of the Peace. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jung Soon Legro; sons, Alfred P. (Lois) Legro, and David P. (Shi Wen) Legro; daughter, Nancy L. Legro; brother, Norman Legro, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives. Private burial, with Full Military Honors was held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. |
