William S. Diaz

April 25, 1927 - February 22, 2010

Palm Bay, FL

William S. Diaz, 82, of Palm Bay, FL died on February 22, 2010 at Palm Bay Community Hospital in Palm Bay, FL. He was born on April 25, 1927 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He married Lucila Roque on March 30, 1946 - next month would have been their 64th wedding anniversary. Lucila survives, as well as his son William Diaz, Jr; grandchildren Jaime, Angela, and Kristy; great grandchildren Joseph, Rachel, Nicholas, Josh, Adam, and Chad; sister Angelina Diaz, nieces Sandra, Sonia, and Evelyn; and nephews Juan Carlos and Gergory. He was preceded in death by her daughter Lucille Diaz on October 14, 2006, and also by his sisters Judy Diaz and Sofia Baez.

William retired from the US Coast Guard, having seen duty during WWII. He then worked for Fire Masters and Diebolt, both in CA, and Hertz Rental Car in FL. He was a member of the Moose and the American Legion. William was an avid golfer, enjoyed all sports, and was a bowling fanatic. He loved his dog, cooking, and most of all - his family and friends.

Funeral Information

His memorial service will be on Sunday at Cornerstone Asembly of Palm Bay, 901 Talpin Street, SE, Palm Bay, FL at 2:00 pm with Pastor W. John Small officiating.

The United States Coast Guard will accord full military honors.

Donations in his memory may be made to his church Cornerstone Assembly of Palm Bay, or to the American Heart Association, 237 E. Marks Street, Orlando, FL 32803.
