Russell "Rusty" Rhodes

September 05, 1950 - March 01, 2010

Satellite Beach, FL

Russell "Rusty" Rhodes was born in Munich, Germany on September 4, 1950. After living in Washington DC, Panama, Utah, North Africa, and Germany, he moved to Satellite Beach with his family in 1964. He loved water sports, particularly surfing, fishing, and diving.

A USF graduate in 1972, Russ briefly worked on the offshore drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. His love for the ocean later took him to Andros Island, where he was employed with RCA as a torpedo recovery diver. From there he went on to join the Real Eight Company as a treasure diver. Rusty was a talented artist who loved to give his sketches away to friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Dusty and Kitty Rhodes. He is survived by his younger brother Ron and leaves behind his nephew Brian and niece Bayley, along with many good friends who will miss him dearly.

Arrangements entrusted to South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL (321) 724-2222.
