Jane Eller

January 22, 1934 - July 17, 2010

West Melbourne

Jane Eller passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at William Childs Hospice House after a battle with cancer.

She was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania in 1934 to Jane Holden Rogers and the late Reverend Edward K. Rogers.

Jane was Valedictorian of her senior class at Warren High School in Warren, PA and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Economics from Gettysburg College. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority at Gettysburg and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. After having three children, Jane obtained her Masters Degree in Library Science from Wright State University.

Being an Air Force wife of 28 years, Jane raised her family of three and
maintained their home while her husband Jim was away several weeks at a time including a year in Southeast Asia.

Since moving to Florida in 1984, Jane has been an active member of Advent Lutheran Church. She served on the building committee that was responsible for the current education wing building and the current sanctuary. She also served as the financial secretary.

Jane was a passionate volunteer. She worked at the Sherwood Elementary School Library for 17 years, was active in the Penhellenic and Delta Gamma Sorority, helped build Serene Harbor (a safe home for abused women) and cooked dinners for The Haven (three homes for abandoned and neglected children).

Jane will be missed by her husband of 53 years, James (Jim) Eller; three children,
Stephen (Lynn) Eller, Susan Mattes and Amy Eller. her mother, Jane Rogers; two sisters, Becky Janow and Mary Louise Lemke; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 am at Advent
Lutheran Church, 7550 North Wickham Road, Suntree.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to William Childs Hospice House, 1900 Dairy Road, West Melbourne, Florida 32904 or Advent Lutheran Church, 7550 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32940-7909.
