Irene Thomas Hill

October 18, 1915 - February 23, 2010

Rockledge

Irene Thomas Hill. born October 18, 1915 in Greenville, WV, to Cany and Minnie Thomas, died on February 23, 2010 at the age of 94 in Rockledge.

Irene was one of nine children and nicknamed "Ted" by her twin brother John. She graduated from Greenville High School and Concord College in West Virginia and taught school in Greenbrier and Monroe Counties and later in Daytona where her family moved in 1954. The family moved to Cocoa in 1961. Irene worked at Kennedy Space Center until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Mark; Son and daughter in law Stephen and Lynne of Cocoa; a sister and brother in law, Mary and David Turner of Princeton, WV; a brother and sister in law, Richard and Lilly Thomas of Lindside, WV; two sisters in law, Mona Thomas of Titusville and Lena Thomas of Princeton, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, five brothers and one sister.

Funeral Information

A local memorial service and a funeral service in West Virginia will be announced at a later date.

Donations Information

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Greenville United Methodist Church, Greenville, WV 24945 where she was a member or Vitas Hospice Foundation, 4450 West Eau Gallie Boulevard, Suite 250, Melbourne,FL 32934.

The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice and the staff at Palm Cottages for taking such good care of Irene during the past few years.
